Government initiative to pay for your staff training

Did you know that your organisation may be eligible for government incentives to have your staff trained in a variety of qualifications inlcuding the popular Certificate IV in Frontline Management (BSB40807)? These incentives can significantly reduce or in some cases completely compensate for the out of pocket expenses to your business for the training of your staff.  The benefits to your organisation are higher trained staff which directly results in higher efficiency and profitability of your business.

What are existing worker traineeships?

Traineeships provide eligible employees with relevant skills, knowledge and hands on experience through structured workplace (on-the-job and off-the-job) training. They are increasingly being used by employees to upgrade their qualification levels in order to compete in today's competitive employment market.

Unlike full-time university or college, traineeship training is undertaken both in the workplace and off-the-job, providing practical hands-on experience and a qualification while continuing to receive a wage.

What training is available?

Courses available for an existing worker traineeships in Qld include:

  • Certificate IV in Frontline Management (BSB40807)
  • Certificate IV in Business Administration (BSB40507)
  • Certificate IV in Small Business Management (BSB40407)
  • Certificate IV in Business (BSB40207)
  • Certificate IV in Project Management (BSB41507)
  • Certificate IV in Human Resources (BSB41007)
  • *Diploma of Management (BSB51107)
  • *Diploma of Project Management (BSB51407)

 

Are you eligible for government incentives for a traineeship?

To be eligible for government incentives the employee must meet the following criteria:

  • Australian citizen or permanent resident OR a New Zealand Citizen with more than 6 months residency in Australia
  • A supervisor above the staff member
  • Not currently studying
  • No previous nationally recognised qualifications (if a qualification is seven years old you may still be eligible)
  • *If you hold a previous qualification at a Cert II / III or IV level you may complete a Diploma Traineeship from the business services package (New in Qld as of 1/1/2010)

How long will a traineeship last?

A full-time traineeship generally lasts for a period between six months to two years. However you can complete your traineeship as fast as you like by simply working through the units of study and completing your assessments.

Online Learning

Accredited Online training has developed facilitated online courses that enable staff to gain formal qualifications without leaving the workplace. While studying, our students enjoy the luxury of phone and internet access to our professional trainers.

Employer Entitlements

The employer may be entitled to receive a total of up to $4000 for any staff training for a traineeship. The commencement payment is $1500 then on 100% completion employers will receive $2500.
