Productivity Places Program (PPP) in WA
The 2009 Existing Worker Training program is a component of the Productivity Places Program (PPP) Phase III which is part of the Commonwealth Government’s Skilling Australia for the Future initiative and aims to reduce skill shortages and increase the productivity of industry and enterprises.
The objective of the program is to fund training that will improve the skills of existing workers in industry areas that address identified skill shortages.
Accredited Online Training has been allocated 43 training places for existing workers.
Eligibility for PPP existing workers
Only existing workers residing in Western Australia that worked the previous week for at least one hour for pay, profit, commission or payment in kind are eligible to enrol in training funded under this program. Access to the training available under the Agreement is limited to people who are:
- » aged 15 years or over; and
- » Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia; or
- » Humanitarian refugees.
Non eligibility criteria
The following enrolment categories will not be funded:
- » students whose primary place of residence is not in WA;
- » residents of Christmas Island or Cocos Island;
- » students who are neither Australian citizens nor permanent residents of Australia unless they are holders of appropriate temporary protection visas;
- » secondary school students;
- » prisoners;
