If you do not meet the requirements for the Productivity Places Program (below), it is a good idea to regularly check this site, for new funded training opportunities. The Productivity Places Program is an Australian Government initiative and ends of the 3th of June, 2009.

What types of Government funded training programs are available?

The Productivity Places Program – part of the Governments Skilling Australia for the future initiative, which was created by the Labor Government to provide free training places for to acquire skills and gain lasting employment.

Existing worker traineeships are available to eligible employees with relevant skills, knowledge and hands on experience through structured workplace training. The employer may be entitled to receive a total of up to $4000 for any staff training for a traineeship. The commencement payment is $1500 then on completion you will receive $2500. The cost of AOT’s courses are very affordable and will leave the employer with money in surplus.

What is the Productivity Places Program?

The Productivity Places Program is a great way to improve your skills so you can find employment. The program provides free courses in skills that employers want and has been designed to help you secure employment.

Are you eligible for funded training through the Productivity Places Program?

To be eligible for the Productivity Places Program, you must be able to meet all the requirements below:

  • 15 years of age or over;
  • currently unemployed for 6 months or longer, looking for work and registered with an employment service provider;
  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • recently made redundant

You also need to be assessed by your employment service provider (ESP) or training organisation as having capacity to benefit from the training.

Please note, you are not eligible if you are:

  • a full-time student;
  • working causally or part-time;
  • self employed.

What courses are available for the Productivity Places Program?

AOT is offering the following free online course through the Productivity Places Program.

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Specialist) TAA40104- is aimed at providing students with the skills and knowledge necessary to perform as a skilled trainer, facilitator and assessor in the workplace. You will learn how to design, manage and guide the learning process as well as how to coordinate trainers and develop quality assurance systems. Certificate III in Financial Services (Account Clerical) FNS30304– is your gateway to the financial services industry, leading to entry-level careers such as accounts payable clerk, accounts receivable clerk and payroll clerk.  This is a nationally recognised qualification, plus AOT provide expert trainer support from commencement through to completion. The Certificate IV in Human Resources BSB41007- is designed for people who want to develop practical human resources sills as either line managers, administrators or human resource officers. There are 10 units of study in this course Click here for more information »

The Certificate IV in Project Management BSB41507- will give you valuable skills, including setting timelines and targets, project costing, budget management, quality control, communicating with key stakeholders as well as reqruiting and leading personnel to work on the project.
